Dear List: I've been trying to find information on a family that lived in Gwenlais from at least 1841 forward; they lived on a farm called Abergwenlais. The name of the parents is Daniel and Mary DAVIES. I'm trying to determine the maiden name of Mary which could be either Hughes or Jenkin. So I was going to get a birth certificate for their last son named David DAVIES, who was born about 1840. I assumed I would find that information at the Swansea registrars office. However, after I sent a letter to them, I received the message that they couldn't find that information and they thought the registrar in Carmarthenshire held those records now. Could you please tell me how to find the email address for that office as I don't seem to be able to locate the right place? I looked on a site that appeared to be for Carmarthenshire.gov.uk and got a message that the site was down because of something they were doing, but that I could try fhs@carmarthenshire.gov.uk in the meantime. However, that didn't go through. Any suggestions to make this work would be appreciated. Thank you for your help. JoLynn Barneck
