According to Genuki, the records are now in Neath - see http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/genuki/reg/districts/west%20glamorgan.html I don't understand why the Swansea Registrar's office didn't know this - perhaps they were confusing it with Abergwenlais in Cilycwm, Carmarthenshire?
