Hello List In the past, I have had great help given to me by members of this list: I am hoping that you can help me once more. I am trying to find information of an Irish catholic family living in Glamorgan in the 1850s. From the 1851 census we know that James Patrick and Esther Lawler's son, John Joseph, was born in Aberdare in 1849. I am trying to ascertain where he was christened, and if a record of this is available. >From my searches on the internet, I cannot find any RC church in Glamorgan at this time in history: but it seems that there was a church in Monmouthshire. Is this correct? Is it likely that there was a travelling priest who would have performed a christening, or would the parents have had to travel to the neighbouring county?
