While sorting through a deceased relative's belongings, I found an envelope containing a passport-type season ticket for the above gentleman, including a photograph, for the Cardiff Fine Art, Industrial and Maritime Exhibition of 1896. He looks a youngish man and very smart, with bowler hat, and hanky in breast pocket. The season ticket looks to have been made by Freke photographers, 12 Duke Street, Cardiff, with advert on the back. Also in the envelope was a South Wales Echo cutting dated 7th July 1988 featuring the exhibition. He is not a relative of ours as far as I am aware, and I think a friend must have sent it to her, knowing her interest in local and family history. I did a quick search on Free BMD and found a likely birth in Cardiff, Sept. Qtr. 1852, Ref. 11a234, and a couple of possible entries for Pontypridd and Monmouthshire for the name, but the family was in the main English. If anyone can claim him I will gladly pass it on, or at least scan it and send a copy. His eyes are quite piercing! Best regards, Wendy
