    3. Hi Listers, Yesterday, I was sent a link to a video about a young Cardiff couple, Gladys WOODLAND and Leslie ATWILL, who were sweethearts at the time of the First World War. As well as a poignant song called Gladdie, written and performed by Ammy Goddard, who is originally from Trelewis, the video has photographs of the couple and copies of their letters. The video is well worth a look. I've played it a number of times already. It's on YouTube. http://youtu.be/TvjV2CvvcUk Josephine

    3. It took me a few minutes to "compose" myself after viewing this sweet but sad but then happy video. So touching. For those of us who care about family history, it is trying to understand the fullness of the past and how it links to the present and then carrying it forward to a future we can't see. I remember standing at the Nebraska gravesides of my great great grandparents from Norway. I never knew them, nor my great grandfather, nor my grandfather. Still I thanked them for all that they had gone through and done to give me the life I now so treasure. They could not have foreseen what their lives would mean to future generations. I loved seeing the songwriters beautiful connection to the song and Gladdie.
