    3. I was revisiting a census return for my gggrandmother 1871 and found that Charlotte Morse nee Williams (her husband drowned as one of 4 hobblers 1851) is married to another Pilot Thomas Morse living in Margaret st, St. Mary's Cardiff. It long like that street no longer exists and was most likely gobbled up by the st. David hotel that is there now. Would that area have been blue collar? or more upmarket due to the proximity to the sea. I've spent lots of time on google trying to see if there are pictures of the area pre new real estate and can only find western esplanade. I did however find it interesting when I went through the 10 pages of census, that it was inhabited by mostly sea faring folk. Master Mariners, dock pilots and so on, makes sense. The last page of the census has a family keeping the lighthouse at flat holm(e) island. So of course I googled that as well. Looks very windy and like it was a rough existence. There was an interesting article, a phenomenon I read in which there was a sticky mud that landed on the coast of Wales that was presumed to have been brought in by winds from the Sahara desert, the theory was that it mixed with the rain clouds it was picked up by and became a sticky glue...if anyone is interested I'll see if I can dig up the article again.
