THOMAS, NELSON.   The funeral of Mr. Henry THOMAS, Berthgron Farm, Nelson, took place on Monday at Llanfabon Churchyard. The officiating clergy were the Revs. Nathaniel REES (Llanfabon), T. Walter DAVIES, B.A. (Caerphilly), Hugh WILLIAMS, M.A. (Pentyrch), D. J. WATTS-LEWIS, M.A. (Tongwynlais), and Dewi JONES (Cardiff), all of whom had been associated with deceased in church work in the parish.   The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. D. H. THOMAS (son and daughter-in-law), Mrs. E. EDWARDS and Miss F. THOMAS (daughters), the Rev. L. C. SIMMONS, M.A., vicar of Treherbert, and Mrs. SIMMONS (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. W. THOMAS (brother), Dr. W. E. THOMAS J.P.(brother-in-law), and Mrs. PHILLIPS-JONES (sister-in-law). Amongst others present were Mr. E. EDWARDS, Dr. R. H. TERRY, Mr. D. NICHOLAS, Councillor A. HOPKINS, and Mr. W. H. REES. FUNERAL OF MR. E. LEWIS, DINAS POWIS.   The funeral of Mr. Edward LEWIS, Chapel-lane, Dinas Powis, took place at St. Andrew's Cemetery on Monday. The Revs. J. P. MILLWARD and Christmas J. LEWIS, B.A., Dinas Powis, officiated. The chief mourners were :-Messrs. A. and H. LEWIS (sons), Mr. and Mrs. SAMWAYS (son-in-law and daughter), and Mr. Walter LEWIS (nephew). Others present were; Messrs. J. VINCENT (Treorky), T. JOHN, H. BARRETT, E. DAVIES, F. MASON, W. SPEAR, S. SPEAR, F. JOHN, I. DAVIES and N. HALL. MRS. B. LEWIS, TREDEGAR.   The death has taken place at Tredegar of Mrs. Benjamin LEWIS, wife of the late Rev. Benjamin LEWIS, who was the pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Tenby, and before that pastor for many years of Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Ebbw Vale. Mrs. LEWIS was a native of Tredegar, where she spent the closing years of her life. She leaves two brothers Messrs. J. H. and W. H. DAVIES, and one sister, Mrs. J. L. ROBERTS, postmistress of James-street, Post-office, Tredegar. MR. J. DAVIES, FLEUR-DE-LYS. The death took place on Monday of Mr. John DAVIES, Coalhole, Fleur-de-Lys. Mr. DAVIES, who was in his eighty-second year, was born at Pengam, and had a very strenuous life, being actively interested in agriculture and farming up to about three months ago, when a severe illness compelled him to retire. He was founder of the firm of Messrs. John DAVIES and Sons, which is one of the largest of horse and cattle dealers in the country. He is survived by three sons. Mr. Herbert DAVIES, Mr. Ivor DAVIES, and Alderman Edgar DAVIES, J.P. a step-son. Mr. George ALDEN and a step-daughter. Miss ALDEN. The interment will take place at Ystradmynach. MR. BEN JOHN, J.P., CLYNDERWEN.   The death has occurred at Manorbedw, Clynderwen, of Mr. Ben JOHN, J.P. Mr. JOHN for many years took an active part in the public life of West Wales, having been a prominent member of the Whitland District Council and Narberth Board of Guardians, as well as the Carmarthenshire County Council. He was chairman of the last named body in 1921-1922, and an Alderman till failing health compelled him to retire two years ago. Mr. JOHN'S enthusiasm for agricultural co-operation was far famed, and he was founder of the Clynderwen and District Farmers' Association, one of the most successful and progressive societies in the country. Mr. JOHN was unmarried and is survived by a sister, Miss E. C. JOHN, Manorbedw. PENARTH MAN'S POST.   Out of a list of 250 applicants Mr. A. R. K. VAUGHAN, 29, Pembrokeshire-terrace, Penarth, has secured the post of assistant accountant to the Hemsworth Rural District Council. Mr. VAUGHAN, who is only 23 years of age, was a pupil of the Albert-road Boys' School, Penarth, and later at the Cardiff Technical College. During the past nine years he has served in the accounts' department of the Penarth Urban District Council. OUTSIDE HIS HOUSE.-Serious Accident At Cardiff. Mr. Bartram GREYSTONE, aged 62, of 31, Romilly-crescent, Cardiff, was knocked down by a motor-car just outside his house on Monday and was taken to the Cardiff Royal Infirmary, where it was ascertained that he had received a fractured skull, and his condition on Monday night was stated to be serious. CARDIFF CYCLIST INJURED.   As the result of the front fork of his machine snapping under him Samuel ATKINS, aged 20, of 15, Milford-street, Splott, Cardiff, received concussion, and was conveyed to the Cardiff Royal Infirmary, where he was detained.
