Hello all, i wonder if you can help someone who by my own admission, is pretty hopeless trying to find relatives. I have Birth Cert. of my step uncle, (William John Bowen Tredegar Arms Pontypridd) who died January 1936, also the funeral report from the Pontypridd Observer. the report states that he was married to a Ada Bowen (Walters), and they had one son, and four daughters. Where are they now, i find it so very difficult to understand that no mention of this side of my family has been made. I have spoken to my cousins, none of them has ever heard of this side of the family. One other important point is that my Father & his Brother were at the funeral, I can go on and on. I hope someone out there can shine some light on this for me. If not thank you very much for reading this E/Mail. best wishes to you all. DGB
Hello D.G. [?] Can you give your father's name please and his date of birth and that also of his brother. Where they all born Pontypridd? I assume that the Wm John was your father's step brother? FeeBMD shows 18 births to a Bowen where the spouse's maiden name was Walters. These range from Annie Bowen, born June qtr 1919 and Peter M Bowen born in the Sept qtr 1935. If you have the names of the five children then you may be able to find their births in FreeBMD and from there work out their likely ages and if they may still be alive. It looks hopeful that Willam and Ada appear to have remained in the Pontypridd district between their marriage in 1919 and Williams death in 1936 -- Cheers Peter
