    1. [GLA] help with Dowlais map
    2. Len Davies
    3. I would be grateful if someone could help me with a brick wall I have so far been unable to resolve. My great grandfather Phillip Davies lived with widow Jane Rosser (nee James) after the death of her husband David Rosser and they produced three Davies children. Phillip died in Jan 1890 aged 39 and I found five possibles born in the 1850's. I eliminated two as they appear in the 1891 census but I could not go any further. I now know that he was buried in St. John the Baptist Church in Dowlais on 7th January 1890 and was taken there from The Square, Rhymney where I know that he died. In the 1871 and 1881 Census there is a single Phillip Davies living with his mother in Well Street, Dowlais and if it can be confirmed St John the Baptist Church is near Well Street then I could reasonably assume that he is my great grandfather.
