John, Go as far as you want. I have a few 7th and 8th cousins in my tree. I find it fascinating to think we are all descended from one couple. I have gone even further than my own tree and am doing a one-name study on my mother's name, trying to find all the occurrences of the name GILBOURNE and its variants, hoping one day to link the different branches I have.
