    3. I don't know what made the mention of "Cinderella"on the list amongst other Disney characters,But it reminded me of one of my Flock. I wrote an article in one of the back issues of Glamorgan Family History Society's Journal no;52 of December 1998. It was to do with my DAVIES family history, who were from Oystermouth,or Mumbles in the Gower. I had a problem with fathoming out which of two families that I found in the Parish Registers, and the census returns were mine? Both head's of the households were called John DAVIES, Both of them had a Wife named Jane. Both of them had a son named Charles, and both of these Charles were of the correct age to be my Great,Great,Grandfather's. So which one was which? Then I remembered something that my Auntie Vera had told me all those years ago when I started out tracing my ancestors in 1982. She told me that my Great,Grandmother Margaret DAVIES[the daughter of Charles DAVIES] had a "Wicked Stepmother",and she hated her so much, she was going to run away to her Grannies house in Cardiff. I then found that one of these Charles DAVIES's had married twice. His first wife was Margaret GRIFFITHS,and his second wife was Jane BARRY. Both of these marriages were in Swansea St;Mary's.The first in 1855,the second in 1866. Both of these marriages had the father of Charles entered as John DAVIES a "Blacksmith". So Now I knew which one of these families was mine. As the other John DAVIES Listed in the Parish Registers and census returns had the occupation of a "Mason". Charles DAVIES first wife had died in Childbirth to my Great,Grandmother in Mumbles in 1865. She had 3 other daughters. Then Charles DAVIES,widower married his second wife Jane BARRY in 1866. Jane gave him 9 sons. I later found out who the "Grannie in Cardiff"Was too. She was Ann HOWELL,Formerly GRIFFITHS,Nee MICHAEL[born in Mumbles in 1802] who was aged 89 in the 1891 census living with another daughter of Charles DAVIES, Ellen Elizabeth DAVIES,[1856-1912]then the wife of William COULTHARD,[1854-1917] Ann was late The Licensee of the Pub "The Prince of Wales"at Mumbles in 1875.She took over the running of this pub from her late second husband Thomas HOWELL.[1797-1872] Ann HOWELL was my 3 x great, grandmother. Cheers Graham. From:- Graham WILLIAMS,of Canton,Cardiff. Glamorgan F.H.S;#551.
