Hi Jill, In my previous message, I mentioned Theophilus Casbard and his family who were living in St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol in 1696. There is a reference in the National Archives to John Casbeard and Theophilus, his son, in St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol in 1676: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=002-pstmr&cid=-1#-1 A further snippet is that there was a Bristol marriage licence bond on 15th. May 1661 for John Casbeard, gent of Redlcliffe and Anne Hellier, widow of Temple. So both CASBARD and CASBEARD were used for this Bristol family.
