Hi Jill, There are references to people called Casbard in 'The Inhabitants of Bristol in 1696'. Theophilus Casbard, gent, his wife, Elizabeth, and daughters, Ann, Elizabeth, Mary, and Marabella were living in the parish of St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol. 3. Thanks so much for those examples of the surname Caseberd in Bristol Jo and also my thanks to you too Dai, for searching Google books, which I have now done too. Have now found some on the 1841 and 1851 census for Berkshire, so it maybe that they started off south of where I live. Cheers for the help!
