Greetings to all. The reason I asked about Monetary Values,is because my Ancestor Richard BURNELL,[c.1724-1811]sold a piece of land in Newton Nottage to Ann BASSETT for 430 pounds in 1772.[from L.S;HIGGINS book on Newton Nottage] His son,my 4 x great, grandfather Robert BURNELL, was left 200 pounds in his brother's "Will"of 1819.His brother being Cradock BURNELL[1751-1819]born in Newton Nottage, died in Savannah Georgia America. Which is why Robert BURNELL,[born in Newton Nottage in 1756]aged 69,went out to America in 1825 to I Suppose, pick uo his inheritance. Nothing further is heard from Robert, so I expect he succumbed to that long journey perhaps? His ship was the "South Boston",of Boston Mass; which I have some evidence that he actually arrived on that jouney out of Liverpool. There were only 2 passengers.Him and his brother in law Thomas JOHN. Would anyone have any knowledge on Deaths in America for that Early Period? Many Thanks,Graham. Yeah, early American deaths, not likely to be found unless he settled in a town with good town records, At least he went to Mass where many towns had great town vital records. But he isn't hitting in any of the ones at Ancestry. There are two Roberts in the US in 1830 but only one in the 1850 census which is the first that mentions all members of the household and names place of birth. In 1850 there is a Robert born in England in @1830 Eliz Name: Robert Burnell [Robert Burnett] Home in 1830: Satterthwaites Mill, Warren, Ohio View Map Free White Persons - Males - 10 thru 14: 1 Free White Persons - Males - 50 thru 59: 1 Free White Persons - Females - 15 thru 19: 1 Free White Persons - Females - 20 thru 29: 2 Free White Persons - Females - 50 thru 59: 1 Free White Persons - Under 20: 2 Free White Persons - 20 thru 49: 2 Total Free White Persons: 6 Total - All Persons (Free White, Slaves, Free Colored): 6 Source Citation: 1830 U S Census: Satterthwaites Mill, Warren, Ohio, Page: 273; NARA Roll: M19-142; Family History Film: 0337953.
