I'd previously ordered certificates from the GRO up until 2007, with extremely good results. I believe in all cases I had the ordered cert. withing a week of ordering. In February I ordered a birth cert. and was informed it would be 21 days before it would be dispatched. I had ordered a birth cert. for a William Jones born 7 June 1851, received one for a William Jones born 29 Dec. 1850. I'm still going back and forth trying to obtain the correct cert. The birth location for my William Jones was Merthyr. Is it possible to order from someplace in Glamorgan directly instead of going through the GRO?
