You might mean 'Capel-Y-Porth' which was situ on Porth Street, Porth. The chapel, Welsh Independent/Congregational, was located next to the Police Sation. It was demolished many years ago and there is now just a empty space. Take a look at my website www.pillars-of-faith.com and you will see a photograph of the chapel as it was in its prime. As Jill states, there are other chapels in Porth and most of them still stand today in one form or another. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Evelyn Clarke" <evelynclarke361@btinternet.com> To: <glamorgan@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 26, 2011 5:51 PM Subject: [GLA] Porth Chapel, Rhondda > Hello > > Does anybody have a picture of this Chapel and is it still a place of > worship - I visited Porth recently but couldnt find it ! > > Many thanks > > Evelyn > -- > > To send to the list send to glamorgan@rootsweb.com > GLAMORGAN Family History Mailing List archives etc. are at > http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/WLS/GLAMORGAN.html > - > A large amount of information, and a wide variety of useful links, may be > found at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/ > > - > The South/West Wales Lookup Exchange and Gareth's Help Pages > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~walesle/wal/AW.html and > http://home.clara.net/tirbach/hicks.html > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > GLAMORGAN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
