    3. Hi Lynne Yes, the Latter Day Saints were included in the 1851 Religious Census. The book I'm currently extracting from is the South Wales volume - it does have a summary of denominations by Registration District. The RDs that have entries for LDS churches are; Abergavenny 4 Newport 2 Cardiff 1 Merthyr Tydfil 7 Neath 3 Swansea 1 Llanelly 1 Llandilofawr 1 Carmarthen 1 Haverfordwest 1 Newcastle Emlyn 1 Lampeter 1 Hay 1 Total 25 in south Wales In the summaries, all churches /chapels are shown under a heading of 'Protestant Churches', apart from Roman Catholics, Latter Day Saints and Jews who are shown under 'Other Christian Chs.' Volume 2 of the book covers north Wales, and the split is based on how the 1851 census itself dealt with classifying 'divisions'. So, the north Wales Division is MGY and above. The book's full title is; "The Religious census of 1851 : A Calendar of the returns relating to Wales, Vol 1, South Wales. Ed. by I.G Jones, & D. Williams. UWP, Cardiff, 1976. I know they were counted in London.
