District Merthyr Tydfil, sub-district Merthyr Tydfil Upper. B. 29 Dec 1850 @Forge Row Dowlais, William, Father William Jones Mother Esther Jones formerly Williams Fathers occupation unclear, but could be grocer. Registered 4th Feb 1851. I contacted the GRO and they stated they would air mail the correct document. Hi Larry, I am in the same boat...I sent the details and they sent me the cetificate but it is a 6 weeks baby not a 50+ person I was looking for. My g/g/grandfathers name was Martin Hooley, and I know he died sometime between 1851 and 1857. I found 2 names Howley and Houly in this time so sent for the Howley name which is the above. Now I will try the Houly name instead. Do I have to send back the first certificate or will they forward another free of charge instead or do I have to order another and pay for it? Any idea? Never received a certificate before from Gro.
