If 300 years of intermarriage, immigration and infatuation with someone who 'isn't one of us,' hasn't done it here in the states. I don't think it's going to happen. Before it does, St. Patrick's Day, Cinco de Mayo, Monty Python and the statue of 'Herman the German' in New Ulm will need to be eliminated, too. And that's just here in lily- white Minnesota. Everyone needs to feel a little special and a little distinct at least once a year. Christopher Wright Son of a Virginia planter's grandson and a welsh coal miner's granddaughter from Pennsylvania despite some looks-askance that he'd even consider marrying a yankee. ('Yankee' meaning 'damnable yankee despoiler of the sacred soil of the Confederacy' not 'yankee can't spell 'labour,' nor 'colour' properly.')
