I need some help and advice please. The 1881 census has my g. grandmother Mary Kellard, age 44, and her daughter Honora Kellard, age 22 born in Ireland. My grandmother Mary A Kellard is also listed age 8, born Llanelli. In 1881 they are in Llanelli. How can I trace the Irish connection please? Any help would be appreciated. It is hard following the Irish connection, your best bet is church records. I have been recommended to ask for a sacramental history (the Catholic church is very wary of genealogical requests) The National library has some good information http://sources.nli.ie/ This site can be useful but it isn't easy to figure where your ancestor was born or married Exploring your Irish family history, step-by-step Follow our guide to researching your Irish family history. Including what to look for and planning your trip. Step one, researching at home http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/index.html I can't get Ireland Genealogy Projects to load, don't know what the problem is. Also it is well worth joining an Ireland list and keep looking for your ancestors in the census and pray they gave a town name, it does happen <G> Good Luck <G> Eliz On Mon, Jun 6, 2011 at 3:03 PM, Deric John <deric@popsjohn.freeserve.co.uk> wrote: > I need some help and advice please. > The 1881 census has my g. grandmother Mary Kellard, age 44, and her daughter Honora Kellard, age 22 born in Ireland. The first step would be to find Mary Kellard's husband's name (assuming she was married) and her marriage record to find out her maiden name as you would need to be looking under that name. Also look at other census - she may have put something more helpful than Ireland on those and in earlier ones be living with her husband. Perhaps looking for the birth of Honora might be a way as well. www.familysearch.org might have it in their Irish databases of civil registration or baptisms marriages etc. Regards Lyn In Oz. > -----Original Message----- > From: glamorgan-bounces@rootsweb.com > [mailto:glamorgan-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Deric John > Sent: Tuesday, 7 June 2011 5:04 AM > To: glamorgan@rootsweb.com > Subject: [GLA] Kellard in Ireland > > I need some help and advice please. > The 1881 census has my g. grandmother Mary Kellard, age 44, > and her daughter Honora Kellard, age 22 born in Ireland.
