Someone living near this location discovered a thread on this subject in the Ancestry list archives from some years ago, and has sent me an old photograph of the property, which I am happy to pass on to anyone interested, or to anyone with a relevant web site. "It's a photo of Cwm Byr allegedly taken in 1947 - but most of us locals think it is a lot older than that. Nowadays this area is surrounded by Forestry Commission owned pine forests - and Cwm Byr was razed to the ground by them in the late 50s/early 60s - so this photo came as quite a revelation to me, to see it looking so open."
