ROBERTS is charged with feloniously obtaining from Abraham SHIBKO a cheque for the sum of £65 under a forged promissory note. Mr. Harold LLOYD, on behalf of the accused, said the case had already had a good deal of publicity, with the result that possibly' it would be difficult for defendant to get heavy bail. Whatever the nature of the charge against him, the fact remained that the proceedings in respect of the matter which gave rise to it been going on for two or three years. Have moved on to CAE now with this extraction project. Just had the Bodvean parish church rector declining on principle to provide attendance figures (thought they were meaningless)' But I think he's been eclipsed by the curate of Bryncroes below who gave the numbers but he certainly wasn't happy with the dissenting 'opposition'. * Bryncroes Parish Church Attendance - morning 15 "This Parish abounds with Dissenters of every denomination who do all in their power to prevent people from going to Church, thereby acting in direct opposition to their own professed principle that every man should be allowed to worship God where he pleases " Service in Welsh Griffith Roberts, Perpetual Curate Gareth Genuki Wales http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/ Help Page http://home.clara.net/tirbach/hicks.html Cwmgors/Waun http://www.tytwp.plus.com/Waun/Waun.html

Hello Kevin The actual census contains two pages, one with the census proper and the other with the head of household, which is what the summary books are. Therefore instead of 900 you have 450 pages to search through. Search summary book for the schedule number and double it to find the corresponding page on the Census. Thats my simple theory. In practice... Gareth I hope admin. don't mind me posting this.......... The site I use for censuses have the 1911 summary census and the 1911 census has just gone on line but I have to enter civil parish and sub- reg dist. ....this still gives me 900 pages to go through. Has anyone the facility to search 1911 without going through all of this? Christopher Taaffe born Ireland and living in Gateshead Co Durham.....does it state where he was born ?. I know a brother stated he was born Dublin in an earlier census. Not much of a Glamorgan link I'm afraid. If anyone could just mention the birth place that would be grand......... no image required thanks. Also, if there is an easier way of searching Id apprecite to know how. It appears as difficult as looking through the various spellings of Taaffe. ( Taff not Taffy) :) Regards, Kevin.
Hi Does anyone know if there is a layout map available for Aberdare Cemetery (Old and new). We went there yesterday afternoon not realising they close gates for vehicle access at 4, so parked the car outside and walked down but couldnt even find how to gain access to the old part of the cemetery - we intend to go back on the weekend but were wondering if a layout map is available which could help us try and locate the graves easier ? Many thanks Evelyn

I don't know how useful they actually are, not having an account to the site. The 1911census site might help. I believe they will allow you to search for free. It might help. Hi Kathleen I think we need a bit more information to try and help you. Are you looking specifically for your ggrandparents graves or more info generally on where they lived etc? You say you have a gravesite number but no grave so which graveyard are you talking about? Do you have any dates of birth or death for either person? Do you have the names of any of their children which could help provide a lead?
