    3. I know of one database where searching for "Catherin before 2 words Morgan" would give the required result, but whether it is a universal facility I do not know. You can substitute the "2" with however many names you might expect. the "searched" to have. 2. Martin Briscoe
    3. The usual method of putting the name in inverted commas seems to work. If I search on BENJAMIN THOMAS then it prioritises the names together but as I scroll down the results it had matches where the two words are not near each other. If I search on "BENJAMIN THOMAS" then all the matches seem to be for the two words together. Some search engines have a 'NEAR' option where you can search for two words being within a number of words of each other but don't know if that is available here. It can be useful if there is another first name that is not always used, as in BENJAMIN FRED THOMAS. Does not seem to be available on this site. If you are one of the 23 people on the list with Yahoo.co.uk addresses or one of the 16 people on the list with Sky.com addresses, please email me (not the list) to confirm that you have received this email. If you are one of those people, and did not receive this message direct, but found it on Rootsweb archived messages, please also contact me. Clearly if any commercial organisation is censoring harmless messages, whether intentionally or by technical blunder, that is unfortunate, to say the least. 1. [GLA] Missing Child ROOD - Was John Rood
    2. Angela Reed
    3. Thank you for all your input - it has been a great help. When I looked at the 1901 census - the actual document - I believe the age is 8 and the line beside it is actually a check mark of some kind. So I believe that is the John Solomon Rood - same one as in the 1911 census. Now, back to the missing child of Samson Meaker Rood and Susan Rood (nee Sweet). They were married in 1889 and had 4 children living per the 1911 census. But as it is shows that 5 children were born alive and 1 died and the previous census records do not have a column for children born alive, died etc. I assume that sometime between 1889 when they married and 1911 there is still a missing child. I did find a William John Rood born Apr-Jun 1894 - the death record shows that he died in Apr-Jun 1894 0 years of age. But I don't know how to find who his parents are. Is there a way to find out that on the Internet? Parish records??? 2. I have found my relative's grandmother working as a domestic servant in the household of a Broughton farmer, B. T. Jenkins, aged 25, with his wife A. E. Jenkins and their baby son. I've looked on line but the only directory is from Slaters 1880, although there is a Jenkins farmer named. Can anyone suggest a way to identify the name of the farm? I have a copy of the census. 3. Hello List, I am really and truly sorry that if you have accessed any of my websites recently, I would advise you to scan your computers as 5 of my websites have been compromised. I am still trying to discover how this happened to me, and I now face the task of taking down the sites, cleaning them individually and uploading them again. It may be my host has been hijacked as I cannot get into it either at present. It would explain how the virus has moved from one website to another. Google has alerted me and has placed messages on the index of sites 'to beware'. Lovely! Does my credibility loads of good! Again my sincere apologies, if anyone has been infected because of linking to one of my sites. My best wishes, Jill

    3. I am interested in Maesteg War Memorial. It was carved etc by my great uncle Thomas Morris of Maesteg.  I believe it was erected to honour the dead of World War 1 . Would Thomas have carved the intricate figures of the soldiers on the memorial  or would that have been a type of mould? Thomas Morris was a native of New Moat Pembrokeshire   but lived for several years in Maesteg where he has descendants. He was a monumental mason by trade.   Many thanks     Yvonne Evans
