I know that the McKinney and Daniel Boone families were related. James Collin McKinney married Sarah Boone around 1750 in Bucks co. Penn. The Boone family lived there for a number of years before moving to the Yadkin Valley of NC. The McKinney family moved to this area too and later all moved to KY. Sarah Boone was (I think) a cousin to Daniel Boone. I have a letter from a another researcher from Daniel Boone to his "Brother and Sister", about land he wanted to sell. This "brother and sister" was a McKinney family. I can't remember all the details on it as I could not prove my line that far back. If the McKinneys and Boones were in the same area that the Gilmores were in KY, then we might have something to go on. I know most of the McKinney families lived around Crab Orchard in KY. There was a branch of the McKinney family that moved to Randolph Co. MO., and another one that moved to Collin co. TX, named after another Collin McKinney, nephew to the James Collin above. Wilma
