    3. George Washington Gilmore: b. 6-7-1794, Greene County, Ga. d. 10-18-1873, near Round Top, Fayette Co. ( his home was actually in Washington Co., Texas Round Top was their P.O.) m. Nancy Ann Newton, at Groove Hill, Clark Co., Ala., Later lived near Dixon's Mills in Marengo, Ca. moved to Texas, Washington Co., in 1849. Nancy died at her home 6-19-1897, aged 96 years and 6 months, 15 days. THeir Children were: Elizabeth Newton b. Nov. 12,1819 m. Clarissa Canon ......b. Jan. 18,1821 m. (see below) Stephen Heard.......b. Feb. 1,1823 m Francis Brown in Marengo Co., Ala. Richard Humphrey b. Feb. 27, 1827 m Margaret Woodward in Marengo Co., Ala. Nancy Wylie..........b. Apr. 7, 1829 (see below) Drucilla Macon.......b.June 8,1831 m M. Keese in Marengo Co., Ala. Mary Matilda.........b. Apr. 13,1833 m unk., in Washington Co., Texas Thomas George.....b.Sept. 7, 1835.. did not marry John Wesley..........b. March 5, 1838 m. Hedwig Seidle in Washington Co., Tx. Sarah Jane ............b. Jan. 2,1841 m.-----McGrego in Washington Co., Tx. Ruth Catherine.......b. Apr. 18, 1843 m. ---Cory It is believed Elizabeth married Thomas Dickson 2-15-1832, age 13. Either Clarrisa or NAncy married an Anderson, not sure which one. George W. Gilmore was in the War of 1812-Capt. John Hill's Co., Tenn. Militia. Was in the Battle of New Orleans, granted pension June 21, 1871. Will continue with Charles. JoAnn
