Continued: Nancy.; b. 8-30-1785 d.7-28-1848, probably Sumter (sp) Co., Ala.(could have been Texas, as the family moved there about that time) a descendent gave the date of her death. m. 1-7-1808 to Joel Heard (her first cousin) in Greene Co., Ga. The family was in Clark Co., Ala. in 1816 in the census for the year, had 3 sons; in Clark Co., when 1830 census was taken. In Sumpter Co., Ala. when 1840 census was taken. not found in later years.( she died before 1850 census but Joel went to Texas, died 7-23-1869, Rafugio, Texas. Joel was b. 12-19-1783 in Greene Co.,Ga. The last two dates come from a descendant, who said they has 11 sons and 1 dgtr. Elijah : b. 7-10-1787 in Ga, probably Wilkes Co.,as county records show he was living there at that time (1787) d. 8-13-1870 S--buta, Miss according to church records. m. 10-28-1812 Jasper Co., Ga to KAren H. Sparlin (barely read). Her name is written several ways. SHe was b. 3-23-1793 in Ga, probably Wilcox, Co. and died 8-9-1878 in Miss. They had 9 children. Two oldest were probably born in Warren Co., Tenn. others in Alabama. It is believed that 3 of the sons were ministers. Children taken from pension application form and from census. records: William Curren 9-20-1813 Nancy G.. 4-2-1816 Catherine W . 7-20-1818 Mary Ann 12-31-1820 Humphry 1-11-1823 Elijah 9-14-1824 Sarah 1827 Samuel 1832 Ebenezer 1835 Stephen 6-24-1830 While living in Warren Co., Tenn. Elijah, Wiley and George W. inlisted in the war of 1812- Elijah was drafted, George W. was substituted, Wiley volunteered. They apparently stayed together during their service, all were in the battle of New Orleans, served 6 months, mustered out in May 1815 in Tenn. All three received pensions later.also bounty land. Elijah, lived first in Clark Co., Ala.i n 1830 was in Wilcox, Ala. back in Clark in 1840. He was a Methodist Minister. Will continue with Humphry Jr. JoAnn
