Looking for futher information on the line of James L. Gilmore. James was born in VA but seems to have been raised in Boone Co KY. He married Sarah Williams in abt 1815. By 1825 he is in Rush Co IN. Then goes to Des Moines Co IA by 1836. He dies in Iowa about 1865. James appears to be the son of a Robert Gilmore. Robert maybe being the son of a Joseph Gilmore. James has sons he names Robert, Milton, Beverly Ward and Jospeh. He has several daughters as well. One married a Clymer. Robert Gilmore, son of James L. becomes a doctor. He lives most of his life in Des Moines Co. Beverly Ward goes on to Oregon and Washingtion. I lose both Joseph and Milton. The daughter who married the Clymer lived in Henry Co. I would love to hear from anyone connected to this line of Gilmores who might be able to shed more light on them. Mainly to confirm who the parents of James were.
