The following is submitted to this list in hopes that someone will recognize some of these GILMORES: 1850 Census, Early County, Georgia, 25th Division, page 298, household #51: John Gilmore - age 46 - Born in GA (would have been born in 1804) Margaret Gilmore - age 46 - Born in GA Benjamin Gilmore - age 25 - Born in GA Reuben Gilmore - age 18 - Born in GA Alexander Gilmore - age 13 - Born in GA Margaret Gilmore - age 7 - Born in GA James L. Gilmore - age 5 - Born in GA Also, in 1850 Early County, GA Census, pg. 400: William Gilmore - 21 - Born in AL (error - born in GA) Full Name: William Green Gilmore Lucinda Gilmore - 23 - Born in GA (Was a Miller, dau. of Lewis & Lucretia Phillips Miller) Benjamin Gilmore - 25 - Born in AL (error - was enumerated twice - see above) William Green Gilmore was in 1860 Jefferson County, AR Census as an overseer. In Lucinda's application for Confederate Pension she stated that William Green fought in War from Alabama and that he died in Union Parish, LA in 1867. Lucinda and children of William G. Gilmore are enumerated in 1870 Union Parish, LA Census. Also Reuben Anderson Gilmore married Jane TOLER and migrated to Union Parish, LA. Margaret Gilmore married Andrew LANE or LAINE and migrated to Hot Springs, AR. Any suggestions or help on this GILMORE line would certainly be appreciated as I have worked on this on and off for the past 40 years. Also, the Gilmores of Washington County, GA - one of the Gilmore daughters married a TAUNTON and she and husband died. An elderly Gilmore was made Guardian of these Taunton children. Thanks for reading this rambling. Louis Taunton
