Ted, The 1850 census for Greene Co. lists Sarah M. Darneal b. KY but has her age as born in 1815. She does have a daughter Lucy A., but she is 12 years old in the 1850 census making her born in 1838. I find William S. Darnell in the 1840 census index but not Nicholas. I know there has to be some more Darnells around somewhere, though. I have a funeral home record for a Lou Adams whose father was a Darnell and mother a Catherine Gilmore. Do you know what happened to John the Miller Gilmore's daughter Catherine?
