My grandfather, Patrick Gilmore, came to Minnesota in 1876 from Ireland; he was about 18 years old at the time. (He is the father of the Ed that I was inquiring about) When Patrick came here, he had an Uncle Edward who was living in the Farmington/ Lakeville area. I don't know if the Uncle had been anywhere else in the states or not before he came to Dakota County; I also do not know if the Uncle ever had any children or brothers. My Grandfather (and his uncle) were both originally from County Galway, Ireland. Anything sound familiar? Pat
