He married KATE PARNELIA on May 01, 1872 in Youngstown, Ohio. John and Kate moved to Cameron, Missouri in 1874 to a farm nine miles south of Cameron. The farm is still in the Gilmore family as of January 1973. Owned and operated by J. Clayton Gilmore. Children of JOHN GILMORE and KATE PARNELIA are: i. WILLIAM H. GILMORE, b. March 16, 1883; d.
