dear Julie I saw your posting and I also am searching a Mathew Gilmore. I don't know if he ever lived in Pike Co. but he was Born circa 1769. married Margaret Logan in Blount County Tn. moved to Dickson county Tn, then on to Alabama,Miss,Texas. I know Mathew had at least one son named James Dob 1800 Dickson county. His sister Jane(Jean?) married James McCrory.
