    3. I have a William F. or T. Gilmore listed as the son of Andrew and Sarah H. Gilmore. Their marriage date is listed as Oct 28, 1822 in Warren Co. KY. I had a crash about a year ago and don't have all the info in my computer that I used to have. Do you have two marriages for William F. or T.? I have a Martha and a Francis listed and two of the sons of William and Martha are buried in Greenfield Cemetery in Dade Co. MO. Can't tell you why I have two wives. Looks like I need to get into my paper files and see what I have on the KY Gilmores in Dade Co. <G> Shirley Moore smoore03@mail.orion.org On Tue, 8 Dec 1998 Noyng@aol.com wrote: > Hi Missouri GILMORE cousins! 3. Linda The name Mudd strikes a bell. I was once looking at information on a James L. Gilmore who married a Nancy Mudd in KY because my gg grandfather was named James Lowell Gilmore (but much younger than the one in KY). I think this James L. and Nancy Mudd were written up somewhere in KY records. My Gilmores were from Warren Co., so I think that was where these other Gilmores came to also. I believe this James L. was in the line of the Rev. War vet James Gilmore who came from VA to KY. When I get time I'll try to find the reference. I probably filed it away when I learned it wasn't my line. 3. Norma It is nice to have someone else researching the same mystery. The marriage record in Warren Co. KY has Sarah listed with surname Darnal and then someone drew a line through the Darnal and wrote "daughter of Elizabeth Gilmore" I think my John Gilmore who married Katherine "Katy" Darnell was a brother to your Andrew. The Darnell Genealogy has Sarah listed as sister of Katy, daughter of Benjamin Darnell and Polly Henson. The people are all mysterious and not well documented in the genealogy. When John and Katy took out their marriage license on Dec. 9 in Warren County, Joseph Gilmore signed as security for John. Later, when Andrew Gilmore son of Richard Gilmore took out a license to marry Sally Gilmore, daughter of Elizabeth Gilmore, Sally's consent was given by her mother who couldn't appear, but sent John Gilmore as a witness to her letter. Likewise, Richard Gilmore gave consent for Andrew and couldn't appear so his letter was witnessed by John Gilmore and William Darnel. (William was a brother of Benjamin) Was Sally a Darnall and a sister of Catherine and also a daughter of Elizabeth Gilmore? I suppose that is still possible if their parents had died and Elizabeth was an adoptive or foster parent. I have found no census or land records of Benjamin and Polly around the time. However, when Benjamin's father Nicholas Darnell wrote his will in 1823 in Henry Co. TN, he listed Benjamin as a son, so he was apparently alive somewhere even though I haven't found where he was. Perhaps if Polly had died he might have left his daughters with one of the Gilmores. Here is what I have in my notes on Andrew's family. I corresponded with someone in this line a few years ago. I believe he lived in Colorado Springs. FAMILY GROUP NO. 96.2? Husband's Full Name: Andrew GILMORE Birth: ca 1805 Kentucky Marr.: 28 Oct 1822 Warren Kentucky Father: Richard GILMORE Mother: Elizabeth WILSON Wife's Full Name: Sarah DARNALL Birth: ca 1807 Kentucky Father: Benjamin DARNALL?? Mother: Mary (Polly) HENSON?? Children: 1. Anderson R. GILMORE born ca 1828 Warren Kentucky mar. 6 Feb 1851 Warren Kentucky to: Isaphine HARDCASTLE 2. John W. GILMORE born ca 1831 Warren Kentucky 3. Andrew GILMORE born ca 1833 Warren Kentucky 4. Jane GILMORE born ca 1836 Warren Kentucky 5. Catherine GILMORE born ca 1838 Warren Kentucky 6. William GILMORE born ca 1840 Warren Kentucky 7. Sarah GILMORE born ca 1846 Warren Kentucky 8. Joseph GILMORE born ca 1848 Warren Kentucky Son Anderson R. moved to Missouri where his daughter Josephen was born in 1864. Josephen's family was located in Dade County in Missouri. Could number 8 could be the Joseph living near John Gilmore's family in Porter Township, Christian Co., in 1860? 3. Ted, and Barb, (and others) I'm trying to connect my Sarah Gilmore m. James Inmon to John and Catherine Gilmore, but have never had any luck. Sarah and James was married in Sprinfield Mo. on July 4, 1847, so Sarah was never named on a census until 1850. She was born in KY and was living in close proximity to John and Catherine on the 1850 census in what became Christian Co. MO. The next closest Gilmore was from the James Cannon Gilmore bunch out of Tenn. One of the amazing things that I tripped across in trying to find Sarah's father was a photo of Sallie Gilmore Gray, daughter of Joseph Gilmore from Warren Co. KY. She came from Cass Co. MO (quite a distance) and married a James Gray. They lived down the section line from my Sarah Gilmore Inmon and could be considered a close neighbor in those days. My mother is the spitting image of Sallie Gilmore Gray. Well, just thought I would check in with you other Gilmores.
