    2. In response to Bethylou 14 (John Gann) I am also looking for a John Gilmore in Tenn. Do not know which county they lived in. The one I am looking for was born about1780. His daughter Mary Gilmore married William Daily 3 Sept 1936. I found them on the the 1850 census in Polk County MO, with birth place listed as TN. There was also a Nancy Gilmore living with them at the time who was over 21 and could not read or write. Not sure if it was Mary's mother. I am searching Grainger, Bledsoe, and Dickson Counties at this time for John Gilmore. If you know where your John came from, please let me know. Joyful Bea (Bea Daily in Florida)

    3. Nancy, I may have sent you info on some of your Wilson Gilmore family even though I am not a "cousin". I found a newspaper article at the Greene Co. Library that said that James Cannon Gilmore, son of Wilson and Martha Gilmore of Polk Co. Mo drowned Sept 20, 1858. I also have a marriage date of 1833 in Grainger Co. Tenn for Wilson and Martha. Don't know where I got the marriage date. There was another James Cannon Gilmore in Greene Co. Mo at the same time. He was the son of James and Barsheba Ferguson Gilmore, also from Grainger Co. TN. I've never seen where the name "Cannon" came from for the two James's to have it as a middle name. I know, I know. Try to find my notes! <G> Shirley Moore smoore03@mail.orion.org
