Doesn't look like your Sarah, but this is what I have FYI: Sarah (Sally) Gilmore m. Andrew Gilmore in 1822, Warren Co. KY. Does anyone know this Sarah's parents? Marriage Source: "KY marriages to 1850. Andrew Gilmore married Sally Gilmore on Octover 28, 1822 in Warren Co. KY The marriage date is usually the date of marriage as given in the original entry. However, when no marriage date is given (e.g., the "marriage return" was not provided to the record keeper), the date of the license is used."
I am looking for any information on R.J. Hill b.1802-1804 and his wife Sarah A. Gilmore b.1809 (census records gives Tenn. as place of birth for both ) I found them in Washington Co. Al. census 1840 with 5 children, then in Marengo Co. Al census 1850 with 5 children , but 3 of the children were born after 1840 so I guess they may have lost 3.The children in 1850 were; Jane F. b. 1828 Sarah E. b.1839 John Samuel b. 1843 Mary Elizabeth b. 1845 Louisa Francis b. 1847 They moved to Washington Co. Tx. in 1852. Sarah Gilmore Hill died in 1857. R.J. and John Samuel were both in C.S.A.and were killed on the ill-fated Sbiley Expedition to Sante Fe in 1862. Jane married Richard G. Whitsett in Al. before moving to Tx. Sarah E. married Jefferson Allen Babbitt. Mary Elizabeth married Thomas Jefferson Allen (my g.grandparents) and Louisa Francis married Alex H. Sample. Hope someone can help me find R.J.and Sarah parents. Harry Carpenter Hahira Ga.

Dear Gary, So good to hear from you! I have a g gmother Mary Gilmore b. Farmerstown N.Y. Oct. 18, 1829. Went to Steuben Co., IN. with her parents William and Diana Gilmore when she was 7 y.o. Married Henry Quick in Steuben Co. IN. 16-Sept-1847. d. Steuben Co. IN. 8-Aug-1911. There is no "Farmerstown" or "Farmers Town" on the current N.Y. map. The only thing similar in the zip code book is "Farmersville" in Cattaraugus Co., a "Farmingdale" in Nassau Co, and "Farmingville" in Suffolk Co. The town or village of Farmerstown is either gone, or changed it's name or perhaps the obit had an error. This is the only thing I have for this family except the 1860 Steuben Co. , Hamilton (town) Otsego Twp census which has William 75 y.o. b. N.Y., Diana 78 y.o. b. N.Y., James 46 y.o. b. N.Y., Mary d.o.b. not clear. Looks like 25 or 28 yr.o., but am not sure. B. Ohio, George 50 y.o. b. N.Y., and Jane 40 y.o. b. N.Y. Evidently this Mary must be the wife (though I do not have it noted) of one of the sons. It would not be the daughter Mary as she was married and had a family of small children (unless she was just home for a visit, but the d.o.b. does not jibe). This is all the information I have for this family except for the descendants of Mary and Henry Quick. I hope you might be of help to me. Thanks so much! Catherine

Hi Gilmores, Does anyone have Amanda Catherine Gilmore b June 16, 1861 m William Wylie Currey? Probably in Georgia and maybe in Wilkes Co. area.
I found this book listing as I was surfing in a North Carolina Rev. War site: Rear Guard of the Revolution by James Gilmore, written around 1895 and only available through the archives of Tennessee Libraries. June Griffin. Old Path Publishers, Dayton, Tennessee One would assume this man would not have written book this if he had no personal interest in the subject. Marilyn

There is 1 Gilmore listed in Starr's genealogy of old Cherokee Families. The index to his book, the 1835 Cherokee Census, a 'how-to' tutorial that shows how to conduct Cherokee genealogy research, as well as the indexes for a number of other very rare books, and other Cherokee genealogy resources, can be found at: http://members.aol.com/rarebk Once at the site, go to BOOKLISTS and then scroll down to the Cherokee genealogy portion. A number of indexes can be invoked from there. Thanks, Jim ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
