Cindy, I think your idea is a great one! Perhaps several of us could each transcribe one newsletter. That way it wouldn't be too much on any one person. Any more thoughts?!?! Perhaps, if Mr. Gilmore is no longer printing or selling the newsletter, he might allow a "volunteer" to publish (transcribe) them to go on the Internet somewhere. Since it seems they are already out in libraries and such for public viewing, maybe he would agree to them being published on the net. You would still have to ask his permission, of course, if anyone wanted to take on such a project. Just a thought. I am doing research on the "Scots-Irish" in Pennsylvania, and not surprisingly keep an eye out for Gilmores. Peter Gilmore
There was one Isaiah S. Gilmore, Jr. b. 29 Jan 1859 (probably Missouri since his brothers and sisters born there). Isaiah was the son of Waldren Isaiah Gilmore b. 25 Dec 1825 LureChan, Lincoln Co., MO. d. 4 Jun 1856 Post Hospital Ft. Gibson, Indian Territory. He m. 31 Dec 1844 Greene Co., IL to Mary Gilliland b. 3 Oct 1826, MO d. 16 Mar 1865 Henderson, TX. The above from the Gilmore Newsletter 1985-1991 by Wm. R. Gilmore. A reminder, the information contained in the newsletter is from charts submitted by others. Freda Strampe
I just got some of the GILMORE newletter on microfiche at the Family History Center. I havent looked at all 15 fiches as I only get up to the town, which is over 65 miles away from where I live, where the Family History Center is located. The fiche # is 6055308 and there are 15. On my computer printout that I printed at the FHC it has > Original newletters 1st-4th Quarters 1985 Collected newsletters published as book: "The Gilmore/Gilmer/Gilmour newletter 1985-1991" Additional copies Another filming of: 4th quarter 1985 film #1481370 3dr quarter 1986 item 15 Another filming of: June 1992 issue film #1697906 item 18 I hope this will help ease the search for W. R. Gilmore's newsletters. My database of the years I mentioned earlier only has: Isaiah S GILMORE, Jr; b 1-29-1849 ; son of Waldren Isaiah & Mary GILILLAND from a chart in the 3Q88 issue. I would be especially interested in adding the data from the remaining issues into the datadase. /Gary Gilmore
Glad to hear the book was published. Does any one know if the updates or newsleters after 1989 were copyrighted? And is the book copyrighted? I have all the newsletters covering the time frame 'til the book was published and would be interested in the reamining issues or at least the information therein. /Gary Gilmore

Gary - thanks for all the info on the Gilmore/Wright connections last week. I replied directly to your e-mail the other day. Wasn't sure whether you received it. The newsletter was definitely published from 1985-9. At one point, he was going to publish a book to include the many "family charts" submitted. I believe he intended to charge only enough to recover his printing costs (I think he owned a printing store). I did not purchase the book. The last address I have for the newsletter is: 3522 Twin City Hwy; Groves, Texas 77619. /Gary Gilmore
The News letters were published form 1985 to 1991. When they quit they published a note book with the letters. I have a copy. I do not believe they sell it anymore. I got mine from Wm R Gilmore, Master Copy Printing, 3522 Twin City Hwy, Groves Texas 77619. Steve Henry
Hi, I am on vacation, so don't have all my info with me, but I also wrote Mr. Gilmore a yr or so ago. He is not publishing any more, and I do have a fairly current address for him, but won't be home until next week. I found that many of the historical and gen libraries may have a copy of the newsletters in a binder - mine does, in Boise, Idaho. Unfortunately, I have not yet found anything to help me - but perhaps one day I will. It is indexed, but we all know how many William Gilmore's, etc there are. It might also be on microfilm through the Family History Centers, I don't know. Good Luck, Laura Gilmore Louis Taunton wrote: > I sent a letter to Mr. Gilmore in Texas last year and the letter was > returned. I sent a letter to Mr. Gilmore in Texas last year and the letter was returned. Does anyone know if he ever published the MANY Gilmore charts or does anyone have his current address? Thanks Louis
I have the book that William Gilmore did containing all the charts. I used to get the updates but they stopped about 4 or 5 years ago. Freda Strampe

I was in contact with him about 2 years ago. He said he wasn't publishing the newsletter any more. I have a Robert GILMORE Smith in my charts that I had inquired about and he sent me some charts. I'm cleaning my folders out so I will see if I can find it and post the names to the list. Doris

Hi Everyone, Here is a message from "gildent" <gildent@email.msn.com>, a non subscriber. If any of you can help, I am sure it would be appreciated. Sharon clarksha@swbell.net Hello! I am researching the family of Mathew Gilmore dob circa 1769, he married Margaret Logan on 2/13/1800 in Blount County Tennessee. They moved to Dickson County Tennessee and lived there for years, I suspect they then went to Alabama and on to Miss. Mathew Gilmore had several siblings they were: Elizabeth--married to George Davidson in SC., Jean--married James McCrory, Mary--married Alex Scott, James, John, William. I will be glad to forward any info I have and would love to correspond anyone searching this same family.
