Hi Nan, wow you really have gone a long ways back on your family line. So far, according to my great uncle's memoirs, my great grandmother's great grandfather came from Scotland, but haven't gone that far back yet. My Gilmores more recently came from Warren Co. KY in the mid 1800s and moved to southwestern MO. The farthest back is Patrick Gilmore born in 1753, and was from Augusta Co. VA, though he may have been born in the old country. Hi: My Gilmore info is very limited. I have a Robert Gilmore Smith b 1824, son of William Smith. He married in Rockbridge Co., VA in 1846.
