My GGG Grandfather was John Augustus "Gus" Echols b: 1816 in Illinois. In 1842, in Johnson Co., IL, he married Laura M. Hardy, also of IL, and by 1845, they had moved to the Morning Star area of then Hot Spring County (in 1872 became Garland Co.), Arkansas, where they had 5 children before she died in 1865 (one of them being my GG Grandmother). He remarried and had a 2d family of 7 children before he died in 1898. One other reason your email caught my attention was the fact that the line you described had ties in Georgia. I have "Gus's" father as being born in Georgia, but am not certain of that....another researcher has him as being born in Illinois. You didn't include any info about the ECHOLs in your email, so there may not be any connection whatsoever, but I just thought I would see if you could spot one. If there is one, I would be happy to sway info with you. Please let me know one way or the other. Thanks!! Bill
