    3. Jean Pierre, As a 1/2 french Gillespie (my mom was born in Metz, "nee Arendt.") I thought I'd give you a quick reply. I do not have any direct information regarding your grandfather, but thought I'd reply because I claim Texas as home, though I now live in Washington, D.C. There are several well established Gillespie's near the San Antonio area of Texas as well as a county named after our family. In addition, you'll find (via the internet) that two Gillespie's from Texas represented their state in the US House of Represenatatives. I hope this helps. Sincerely, King W.
