I am wanting to hear from researchers of the BLOUNT CO< TN families of GILLESPIE. I have a James Richard GILLESPIE b ca 1793, who enlisted in the War of 1812 in Blount Co, TN. He came to N AL to fight Indians. Then after the war he came to Decatur, Morgan Co, AL and married Lucy Johnson b 1796 NC 9 Sep 1818. They went a few miles west to Lawrence Co, AL and established a home in what is now called Gillespie Cove, Bankhead Forest in the Black Warrior Mts. I have a book, " THE GILLESPYS FROM SCOTLAND TO BLOUNT CO; by Lillian Anthony GILLESPIE and John Porter GILLESPIE pub bef Jul 1993. The authors tell of 6 related James but none of them are the one I am searching for. I would like to get in touch with the authors or anyone who knows of these families, in my effort to find the parents of James Richard GILLESPIE.
