Hi Karen: I have a Charles Gillespie, head of household 1830 in Botetourt Co. Va. He came to this Country with a brother, William Gillespie. Charles married Mary Armstrong who came to this country from Ireland to marry Charles. They had three daughters, Mary born 1799, Peggy born 1803, and Adline born 1816. Adline married my ancestor John Brickey Lee. Charles died before 1850 and is said to be buried in Hollywood Cemetery in Va. The 1850 census for Botetourt Co. Va. shows Mary Gillespie living with John B. Lee and Adline Gillespie Lee. Peggy Gillespie married Daniel Lee, John Brickey Lee's brother. Peggy Gillespie Lee is also living in the John B. Lee household. Do you have any more information that would tie your William to my Charles? Thanks and good luck.
