Of the children of Thomas L. and Catherine Beard Gillespie, he only had two sons, both went to Illinois, as did all the younger children. The older ones went to Carroll/Henderson Co., TN. The Gillespies and the Hall's had intermarried for some time, and Thomas' daughter Jane married Addison B. Hall. Both Jane and Addison died and are buried in Henderson Co., TN. In another letter, Richard mentions a Samuel Walker. I don't know if this means anything, maybe all just a coincedence of a common name, but I'll throw it out for what its worth. John Morgan and Neoma Thompson Gillespie's daughter Sarah, Samuel Huston Gillespie's little sister, married a William P. Walker. Both Sara and William P. Walker are buried in the Johnson Co., IL cemetery. Other Walker - Gillespie related combinations I have Roscoe Walker m. Maude Louise Farris b. 6/4/1882 Robert B. Walker m. Mary Polly Gillespie m. 11/9/1824 (dau of Thomas and Catherine). In 1840 they were in Henderson Co., TN. Don't know what happen to them. Jane Walker m.Thomas T. Gillespie on 7/20/1812 in Williamson Co., TN (This is Issacs son, Thomas L.'s cousin) Fanny Walker m. John L. Hogg in 1863 (This is William P.'s sister, and John Hogg is Thomas L.s grandson.) Once again, I don't know that this means anything, but obviously these Gillespies were close to the Walkers also. Larry
