This is in response to Richard Gillespie in San Marcos, TX Your Gillespies must be connected to mine, but after searching a bit tonight I can't connect the dots. John Morgan Gillespie and Naomi Thompson were 1st cousins who married in Maury Co. TN in 1825 and are buried in Johnson Co IL. The surnames of FARRIS, JOHNSON, and HOUSE that you mentioned are connected to them in Johnson Co. IL. There are quite a few Samuel Gillespies in this line. Our Gillespies also go into Williamson Co. TN and I found more than one Samuel there, as well. This line also traveled further north in Illinois. I'll do some more searching and get back to you.
