I sent off for two death certificates today, hoping to find some more information about the aforesaid James , father of Lucy Gillespie Collins and about Margaret ADAY, mother of Sarah Callaway GILLESPIE who married John Karnes McBride. As most of you know these families lived near Hillsboro, Lawrence Co, AL and the ladies mentioned lived long and useful lives. Sarah died at age 79 and Lucy was 78. Landers, registrar; Medical certificate- date of death Nov. 30, 1932; Dr. J. F. Huey, M.D. of Hillsboro, AL attended the deceased from Nov 1932 to Nov 30th 1932. I last saw her alive on Nov 30, 1932. Death occurred at 8:00 A. M. cause of death cerebral hemorrage; no operation was performed. Note: by H. Austin 7-30-1999. I was hoping to see the name of Lucy's mother on the death report. We know that she was Margaret ADAY. I wanted to see the spelling. It seems the informant did not know her mother's name.
