Searching for information on John Gillespie (b. Donegal c. 1807) and Mary McAdams, daughter of Owen McAdams and Catherine Gallagher (b. Donegal c. 1809). Children all born in Donegal: Edward (1832), James (1833), Catherine (1836), John (1838), Mary (1840), Patrick (1843) and Michael (1846). Probably emmigrated with the family to Scotland during the famine. Edward married in Lennoxtown, Stirlingshire, Scotland, in 1858 Susan Walls (b. Derry 1834), daughter of John Walls and Susan Connery. Michael, my g-grandfather was born in October 1861. Three brothers John (1860-1860), Patrick (1864) and John (1869) were born. A daughter or possibly step-daughter Mary born in (1852) is also recorded in Scottish Census records. Michael emmigrated to the US. anywhere between 1873/1880/1885 depending on which Census is at hand. Married in Philadelphia to Bridget O'Connell (b. Ireland 1864), daughter of Jeremiah O'Connell, on April 24, 1889. Nine children: Susan (1890), Jeremiah (1891), Edward (1893), Mary (1895), stillborn daughter (1896), James (1897), Margaret (1899), Frances (1901) and Dorothy (1903).
