Proved 20 Oct 1769 ===== JOHN GILLESPY (son of James and Jennet (b Kells,Scotland 1734) will 6 Feb 1796 Blount Co, Southwest Territory (later TN) He died Mar 16, 1796. wife Elizabeth. ch Jean, Agnes, Elizabeth, William, Nancy Ann, John Susannah, Alexander, Margaret, Sarah, James(decd) dau Elizabeth, Agnes. ======= The will of William GILLESPIE son of JAmes and Jennet, b ca 1737 Scotland or Ireland will dated 19 Oct 1825, filed 25 Dec 1826 Blount Co, TN. This is transcribed in the book also, but I would like to be able to see the microfilm or the actual book record, This is the Wm. who married Isabella Houston Henderson. I believe it is possible that he is the grandfather of James Richard GILLESPIE of Lawrence Co, AL who I am researching. It is said that it took 20 years to sell all the lands (until 1846?) ======= John GILLESPIE ( b 1774) son of Wm. and Isabella d 14 Mar 1842 with estate in Louisville, TN, bur in Holston College Cemetery. This is the will I would most like to see. His son James is suppposed to have been co-executor with widow of John (Jane)) SO IF YOU SEE THIS WILL OR THE PROBATE RECORDS FOR 1842-1845 THIS IS WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR. What am I looking for? Anything with a James with a middle name Richard GILLESPIE. Anything that will link a James of AL with the Blount Co, families. Dates? He was b ca 1790-1793 probably in TN , Enlisted in army in Maryville in 1814, was in Blount Co. until about 1817. Then came to Morgan Co, AL 1818-1835.
