Settled on Indian Hill Farm, Washington Co., Pennsylvania, 1778, on land purchased from "Indian Peter." Married 1766 ELEANOR DOUGHERTY (1740?-1781) of Barony of Inesowen. Thought to have been married by an itinerant priest. The location is on a high bluff on the west side of the Monongahela River. Directly across on the east side of the river is Brownsville, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.
