Looking for information on a William Gillespie who was born about 1737. William served in the 9th Virginia Regt. in the Rev. War. William died in 1831 in Blount County, TN and is buried in the Holston College in Louisville, Blount Co., TN. Thanks, Gloria

Hi Gloria, Don't know if this is the same William Gillespie. This information was sent to me by a woman named Doris about three years ago. William Gillespie, b. abt 1734 in Ulster, Ireland, d. bfr 25 Dec 1826 in Blount Co. TN. Married Isabell Houston, b. abt 1722 in Ireland, m. abt 1758, d. aft 19 Oct 1781. She was the daughter of John Houston and Margaret Cunningham.
