Gillespie DOB:3/15/1864, DOD:12/21/1958. According to what I have been able to find his fathers name was Henry DOB: abt. 1835 and his mothers name was Clarisa. They lived in McDowell County NC the North Cove section in the 1870 census. I am stuck there. Clarisa may have been a McHone but I do not know that as fact. I know that the families were close. There is a William Gillespie with a son named Henry in the 1860 census that may be my Henry but have no way of knowing for sure unless I make a trip to Mcdowell County. Can anyone help with this. I have run into a dead end it seems.
