Hi I have in my husbands family tree a William Gillespie the son of John Gillepsie who was born in Lanark Scotland in 1844. John later moved south to Woolwich Kent, England, I beleive that Johns parents were Alexander Gillepsie (b. abt. 1818) and Janet Wyper and that his grandparents were Alexander Gillespie and Janet Brown. if htis fits in with your family at all and you would like more details please let me know.
